What you need to be successful
The QuailPro Processing Tool is a fast, controlled solution for processing Coturnix quail with consistency and confidence. Designed for small-scale breeders, it provides secure positioning for a smooth, repeatable dispatch—making it an effective quail processing tool and quail dispatch tool for backyard setups.
Whether you’re learning how to dispatch quail or upgrading from a traditional quail killing cone, this tool offers improved handling and control compared to basic quail processing equipment and other small bird processing tools. Built for efficiency and ease of use, it helps streamline your workflow while supporting a more consistent, low-stress process.
How it works: The tool holds the bird in a stable position—just guide the neck into the loop and use a quick, controlled downward motion. Quail vary in size, it may be necessary to squeeze the loop with a pair of pliers to better fit your birds.
Made in USA by Black River Designs, the QuailPro makes quick work on processing day.

ThermoPro Incubator Thermometer & Hygrometer
Accurate temperature and humidity readings are essential for a successful hatch, and the ThermoPro Thermometer & Hygrometer is one of my favorite tools for monitoring an incubator.
Its compact size fits easily inside most incubators while providing readings with ±1°F temperature accuracy and ±3% relative humidity accuracy. The display refreshes every 10 seconds, allowing you to monitor changing conditions throughout incubation without constantly opening the incubator.
The built-in stand makes it easy to position inside your incubator, and when you're finished hatching, the magnetic back lets you store it conveniently on a refrigerator, cabinet, or other metal surface until your next hatch.
The thermometer operates on a single AAA battery, which is included, so it's ready to use right out of the package.
This is the same thermometer included in our Quail Starter Pack because it's simple, reliable, and easy for beginners and experienced hatchers alike.

The Golden PeckHub™ Mason Jar Feeder
Small birds deserve a feeder designed specifically for them—not a scaled-down chicken feeder.
Working with a designer, we developed the Golden PeckHub™, a feeder that attaches to a standard regular-mouth mason jar to provide a steady supply of feed while minimizing waste. The domed center encourages feed to flow naturally toward the feeding ports as birds eat, helping reduce the need for constant refilling or shaking.
The feeding openings are intentionally smaller than many traditional feeders. This helps reduce head shaking while birds eat, which means less feed ends up on the floor and more stays where it belongs—in the feeder.
The Golden PeckHub™ is an excellent choice for button quail, Coturnix quail, and small chicken breeds such as Seramas and Ko Shamo/Kikiriki chicks. While the design helps discourage young chicks from climbing inside, no feeder can completely prevent a determined chick from exploring.
Mason jar not included.
This feeder is also included in our Quail Starter Kits, making it one of the same products I use when helping new keepers get started.

Button Quail Feed & Water Cage Cup
After trying countless feeders, I finally found one that's just about perfect for button quail.
These compact cage cups feature sturdy metal mounting hooks that hang securely on ½-inch hardware cloth, making them ideal for breeding cages and brooders. The removable grid top helps keep birds from scratching feed out onto the floor, reducing waste while keeping the feed cleaner.
The cups are solid, so they're equally useful as feeders or water cups, giving you flexibility depending on your setup.
I personally use two in every button quail breeding cage, and they hold enough feed to last about a week under normal conditions, making daily chores quicker and easier.
They're also an excellent choice for Coturnix quail chicks, Seramas, Kikiriki, Silkies, and other small poultry that benefit from a compact, easy-to-clean feeder.

One-on-One Quail Consultation
Thinking about raising quail but not sure where to start? Or maybe you've already begun and want expert guidance before investing more time and money.
Spend about an hour with me, either here at Bryant's Roost or virtually through Google Meet, and we'll build a plan that's tailored specifically to your situation. No two quail setups are exactly alike, so I don't believe in one-size-fits-all advice.
We'll discuss your goals, available space, local regulations, housing options, feeding programs, incubation, brooding, breeding, processing, equipment, and anything else you want to cover. If you're visiting the farm, I can also demonstrate how I humanely dispatch and clean a quail.
There are no dumb questions. I've been raising quail for years, and chances are I've heard the same question many times before.
Many people book a consultation before purchasing birds or equipment simply to determine whether quail are the right fit for their family or homestead. Spending a little time planning can save hundreds—or even thousands—of dollars on mistakes and unnecessary purchases.
After your consultation is purchased, we'll coordinate a day and time that works for both of us. I'm available most days and many evenings.
You can also click Additional Information on this page to watch an actual consultation and see what to expect.
