I have been steadily working on an Egyptian Line of Jumbo quail for months and they are finally ready! The same easy temperament as my jumbo pharaohs. Same good size. Same easy feather sexability. Just a lighter colored package. Egyptian is a diluter gene so the birds have a more strawberry blond appearance. Add these to your collection.
Also, if you take an Egyptian Rooster over Pharaoh hens, you will get auto sexing at hatch birds. Isn’t genetics fun!!

These are the gold standard for meat and eggs. Large size of over 13oz. Daily egg layers. Easy feather sexability after 18 days. Calm demeanor, not flighty. Sometimes these are also called jumbo browns or jumbo wilds. Also called SLB or sex-linked browns. These are all the same!
The BR meat quail has been bred for years to accomplish the ideal meat bird. Full grown at 8 weeks and will be laying eggs or ready to butcher. I have several cages and you will receive a variety of eggs from different breeder sets to insure as much genetic diversity as I can.
These birds are very quiet and could easily be hidden in an HOA or area where poultry are not allowed.
In the pictures you will see one with speckled chest, that is a girl. The one with the rust colored chest and the white chinstrap is the male.

I have some projects going and extra eggs along with my standard breeds. I will send you an assortment and this could include Jumbo Pharaoh, Jumbo Egyptian, Fee, Range Celadon, Tuxedo Celadon, Scarlets, Tibetan or Whites.

You will receive :
36 Egyptian Hatching eggs
36 Pharaoh Hatching eggs
These will be breed true.
Hatch them and you will be able to tell them apart instantly. The Egyptians will be lighter, blond color. The pharoahs will be dark with stripes.
Once they are adult, set up three cages, one Egyptian, one Pharaoh and one with an Egyptian male over Pharaoh hens. It will not work the other way. When these hatch you will get Egyptian hens and split pharaoh males. Do not mix these males in with your original pharaohs as they have split genetics and will mess you up.
This is ideal set up to sell guaranteed hen chicks locally.
Bryant’s Roost breeders are fed a custom layer feed for maximum fertility and embryo vigor. We will double box and ship in our custom EggFoam.
You will receive eggs from specially set up breeding pens that will be sexable at hatch! Hens will be Egyptians and roos will be Pharaoh.. This only works the first time and after that, you will have to set up your own cages to do it or sign up for a subscription of hatching eggs!
This configuration is perfect for people who only want hens or need to know at hatch due to space constraints.

I do not offer a hatch rate guarantee. Many factors affect hatch rate including handling during shipping and customer experience with incubating. We do offer many tutorials to help you on your journey.

Shipping time varies with weather and seasons. IF it is too hot, the eggs will literally overheat and will not be viable upon receipt. I do my best to insure a great experience. During our busy season, times can be delayed and you can find current ship times here .

If the variety is feather sexable, after 3 weeks of age, the markings will begin changing. Males will have a more solid chest and females will keep their speckles.

At checkout, you may leave notes. I cannot guarantee a certain date but the further ahead of time you order, the easier it is for me to hit that mark. Otherwise just put the info you think I need such as “ After April 1” or “I will be on vacation April 1-5”.

Quail Chicks need a high protein, moderately high fat starter feed. I suggest Kalmbach turkey starter, non medicated. Show Pro Feeds will also ship custom feed or if you are close to Birmingham, you can pick it up. I do not recommend Purina, try to locate a local feed store and talk to them. If you are in doubt, PoultryNerdsPodcast.com has a feed tag page with many tags already on it or we can analyze for you.
