Bryant's Roost Bresse Hatching Eggs

$115.00

The American Bresse quickly became a favorite heritage chicken of mine. I wasn’t sure how I would like a white bird. The blue legs are very striking. The ability to forage and still grow to a nice size quickly is impressive.

I sourced birds from a knowledgable breeder in 2024 and have hatched and studied to create 5 breeding groups that I am happy with. Selection is a never ending tool to constantly improve any breeding program.

My selection points are weight, width and depth of chest as the first three. I am not interested in showing the birds, I am interested in sustainable meat, therefore the color may have some minor leakage. The birds must be 5+# at 17 weeks to make it to the breeding program.

No birds are perfect but these have been a great starting point for me and can be for you also. The quick turnover and the tasty meat will make it a staple here at the Roost.

Fertilized hatching eggs will be offered on a limited basis and those on the waiting list will be notified first when I have them. I do not like to be sold out more than 2 months at a time, therefore I will slow orders accordingly.

These are not pullet eggs, these are from the breeders I have been hatching from. Birds have been fed Show Pro Layer Blend since point of lay and it shows in the vigor of their offspring! They are on grass in tractors majority of the year, however this winter has had some frosty morns, so they are cozy at the barn.

All eggs will be shipped in EggFoam and double boxed. Multiple dozens will be shipped separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely! I hatch weekly and each eggs is marked with the pen number for me to track fertility and vigor.

  • Hatch rates vary depending on many factors. For best results, I have outlined my recommendations here

  • I ship in order received. I ship at least every other day, depends on the number of eggs received. I ship within 30 hours of lay.

  • No. I know my fertility and what hatch rate I get here, but I am not in control of handling by USPS or UPS nor your incubator and methods.

These are some fresh chicks hatched 2/20/26. As you can see, no splay, no weak chicks and they go straight to eating and drinking. I leave them in the incubator about 24 hours to rest and get ready for life! For more information on the Bresse, check it out here
